OVA Football
Since our first kick-off on Sunday, 30 December 2007 at 5 pm, OVA Football has brought Old Victorians back to the VS field week after week — not just to play, but to belong.
What began as a simple idea to bring together former Victorians for a Sunday kickabout has grown into a living community spanning generations. As at 2026, OVA Football has played 1,683 matches over 962 weeks, with more than 200 players across the Tyrwhitt and Kallang groups.
For many of us, the VS field is more than just a football ground. It is where friendships are renewed, school memories are relived, and the Victorian spirit continues to thrive.
Our Story
OVA Football began with an idea from Roshaizan Bin Sapan, affectionately known as Zan:
What if football could bring people together again — not just to play, but to belong?
With the support of the Old Victorians’ Association and the school, the first Sunday football session was held at the VS field on 30 December 2007. We are deeply grateful to Mr Low Eng Teong, the former principal of VS, for granting us this privilege. Your kindness has enabled us to rally an entire community that gives back to the schools in many meaningful ways.
In the early days, around 20 Victorians from different cohorts would turn up. Word soon spread. Within months, the numbers grew, and the sessions were eventually organised into two groups:
• Kallang Team — for younger players
• Tyrwhitt Team — for senior players aged 40 and above
Every Sunday, Old Victorians return to the pitch with the same joy, pride, and camaraderie that shaped their school days.

Our goal is simple: to ensure that every Sunday session remains safe, enjoyable, and worthy of the Victorian name.

More than a Sunday game
OVA Football is not about trophies or titles.
It is about fellowship, continuity, and the shared pride of wearing the Victorian badge.
Over the years, fathers and sons have played side by side. Players in their 70s continue to take the field. Families gather after matches for makan sessions, celebrations, and community events. The group has also organised National Day football fiestas, participated in tournaments, and proudly represented the Victorian name in the wider football community.
Through football, OVA has kept generations of Victorians connected — on and off the pitch.

Giving Back
The Victorian spirit extends beyond the football field.
Over the years, OVA Football has supported Victoria School, fellow Victorians, and the wider community through donations, fundraising, and active participation in school and community initiatives.
These include contributions toward:
• VS sports field and facility improvements
• Football CCA support across A, B, and C Divisions
• Community football initiatives
• Support for fellow footballers and their families
• National Day football fiesta and family celebrations
• Sports equipment and training resources for VS and VJC teams
• Seed funding of S$6,000 for OVA Community Project HotShotz
• Victoria School Dinner 2023
In 2025 alone, OVA Football raised more than $20,000 to support high-performance training equipment and coaching for sports teams representing VS and VJC.
A Living Legacy
OVA Football has been sustained by Victorians who stepped forward to serve. From Zan’s founding vision to Terrance Teo’s decade of leadership, and now to a new generation of organisers, each group has built on the work of those before them. Their greatest contribution is not measured in medals, but in the community they have kept alive — a community where Old Victorians continue to gather, play, laugh, support one another, and carry the torch forward. Because for many of us, we never really left.
